Shirley Lunn (BWY 500 hr Dip, College of Sound Healing Diploma Holder, Qualified Holistic Therapist)
I began practising yoga in 1992. Initially trained in Ashtanga yoga, over time I have been drawn to a more mindful approach to yoga, based on a modern understanding of how the human body works.
Qualified and insured with the British Wheel of Yoga, I have over 25 years’ teaching experience. I encourage students to bring a sense of fun and freedom to their practice. Classes include elements of mindfulness and deep relaxation and ideas for incorporating yoga into your daily life.
I have been a musician for almost all of my life, starting with recorder at primary school, then studying piano, violin and singing before becoming a choral scholar at King's College London where I studied for a B Mus (Cons). In recent years I have become increasingly drawn to the therapeutic use of sound and subsequently studied with the College of Sound Healing on the Sound Healing Diploma Course. I now offer 1:1 sound healing sessions and sound relaxation (sound baths) at a number of local venues or in clients' homes.
I hold qualifications in Indian Head Massage and Ayurvedic Facial and Foot Massage from Mary Atkinson and Dr Deepa Apte of Ayurveda Pura.
I love all animals, especially cats and I am passionate about recycling and reusing. I enjoy playing piano duets, knitting, crochet and spending time in nature.
